In the days when it feels like you can’t escape this chaotic life. Remind yourself that it is okay to take a break from all of it.
It’s okay to cancel plans that you’ve made months ago. It’s okay to soak yourself in a warm scented bubble bath for as long as you need to. It is okay to turn your phone off all day so that you can take a break from social media. It is okay to separate yourself from reality by diving into the realm of your imagination by reading a book or by daydreaming of what you can become.
This is a reminder from me to you that it is okay to take a break. It’s okay to miss a day from your normal routine. It’s okay to call out from work and take a break from being a robotic person that helps this society function. It’s okay to put a barrier between you and the toxic people you might know. It’s okay to close that bridge and reminds yourself that it will only cost you a great deal of energy. So while you can, try to get away.
This is a reminder that you are a person. I am reminding you to exist not for everyone but for someone who needs you the most, which is you. You may be busy worrying about everything that revolves around you and without knowing you may be neglecting the one who needs you the most, which is you. I am here to remind you that after a long day and after everyone else is gone the only one who is going to be there for you is no one else but yourself.
So I am reminding you to take a step back and take a break. Put on your baggy clothes, turn off your phone and turn on your favorite show, get your favorite snack and take a break from this chaotic life we all live in. I am here to remind you to take it slow. Stop walking so fast as if you don’t have enough time to get to where you need to be. Walk slowly, breath in the air. Look around as if you are a tourist to your own land. Take a different route or rather take the scenic route. Enjoy the sun on your skin more. Take longer showers. Swim in the ocean even if it scares you.
I am here to remind you that it is okay to cry about something or nothing. So cry let it all out. It’s ok to be mad about something and forget about it later on. I know that you carry to much strength that you ended up carrying everyone else. However, no one seems to be carrying you. So let me carry you for a moment. So that you can take in my words because they are for you. I am here to remind you that even the strongest ones need a break, you can take a break, so take one love.
Walk slower, don’t go with the flow. Don’t follow the trend. Embrace what makes you different even though they don’t agree. Live for yourself. Embrace your flaws. Get rid of the people who can’t accept your flaws. Love passionately. Drink more water. Enjoy the sun on your skin. Dance underneath the rain. Read more. Kiss harder. Love better. Listen closely to yourself and to the people who love you.
Take a break from all of it and when you are ready, come back. But be better not for them but for you. Because the person who needs you the most is you. Because at the end of the day the only one who will save and comfort you is you. Let this be a reminder for you. You’ve been nothing but a warrior, so for a moment take off your armor and take a break from saving everyone and save yourself this time.
Because even the strongest ones can be weak at times and that is fine. So take a break and come back stronger than you once did. But try to save yourself first before saving everyone. Because the one who needs you the most is you. For it will only be you who can save you from this chaotic journey that is called life.
